From First Step to Final Result — We’re With You All the Way

  • PMU Aftercare for Eyebrows

To achieve the best results after your permanent make-up (PMU) eyebrow treatment at SQIN Care, following proper aftercare is essential. Use this step-by-step guide to support safe healing and long-lasting, natural-looking brows:

    1. Keep the Treated Area Clean and Dry
Avoid getting water, make-up, lotions, or creams on your eyebrows for at least 10-14 days to prevent infection and irritation.

    2. Gentle Cleansing
If necessary, gently cleanse the area with sterile water and a soft cotton pad. Dab carefully without rubbing to protect the healing skin and pigment.

    3. Avoid Picking or Scratching
Mild redness, swelling, and scabbing are normal during the healing phase. DO NOT pick at any scabs or flakes, as this may cause scarring and uneven pigment loss.

    4. Protect from Sun Exposure and Moisture
Stay away from direct sunlight, tanning beds, swimming pools, saunas, and steam rooms while healing. UV rays and moisture can cause pigment fading and prolong recovery time.

    5. Avoid Makeup and Skincare Products
Refrain from applying eyebrow make-up, exfoliating products, or heavy creams near the treated area until it has fully healed.

    6. Limit Physical Activity and Sweating
Avoid excessive sweating and heavy exercise, which can affect pigment retention and increase the risk of irritation.

    7. Use Sunscreen After Healing
Once healed, protect your eyebrows from sun exposure by applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen to maintain colour intensity and safeguard sensitive skin.

    8. Watch for Signs of Infection
Contact us or your healthcare professional immediately if you experience excessive swelling, persistent redness, pain, or discharge.

    Healing Expectations for PMU Eyebrows

    • Days 1–3: Expect mild swelling, redness, and tenderness as your skin begins the healing process.

    • Days 4–7: Scabbing or flaking may occur—allow this to shed naturally to avoid pigment loss.

    • Weeks 2–4: The pigment may lighten or appear patchy as the skin regenerates and pigment settles.

    • After 4 weeks: Most clients see the final healed result, but a follow-up session may be recommended for perfect pigment retention and shape refinement.

At SQIN Care, we prioritise your safety and satisfaction, guiding you throughout your PMU eyebrow journey to ensure beautifully healed, natural-looking brows that last.

  • PMU Aftercare for Eyeliner

Proper aftercare after your permanent make-up (PMU) eyeliner treatment is vital for safe healing and long-lasting, flawless results. Follow this step-by-step guide from SQIN Care Algarve:

    1. Keep the Area Clean and Dry
For the first 10-14 days, avoid getting water, makeup, creams, or lotions on your treated eyelids. This helps prevent infection and irritation.

    2. Gentle Cleansing
Use sterile water and a soft cotton pad to gently dab the area if needed. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing to protect the delicate skin and pigment.

    3. Avoid picking or scratching
It’s normal for slight swelling, redness, and mild scabbing to occur. DO NOT pick or scratch scabs or flakes, as this can cause scarring and uneven pigment retention.

    4. Protect from Sun and Moisture
Stay out of direct sunlight, tanning beds, swimming pools, saunas, and steam rooms during healing. UV exposure and moisture can fade pigment and prolong recovery.

    5. Skip Make-up and Skincare Products
Avoid using eye make-up, exfoliants, or heavy creams around the eyes until fully healed to prevent irritation and pigment disruption.

    6. Avoid Rubbing and Sweating
Be gentle with your eyes. Avoid rubbing, heavy exercise, or activities that cause excessive sweating, which can interfere with pigment retention.

    7. Apply Sunscreen After Healing
Once healed, protect your PMU eyeliner with a broad-spectrum sunscreen around the eye area to maintain colour vibrancy and protect sensitive skin.

    8. Monitor for Signs of Infection
If you notice excessive swelling, persistent redness, pain, or discharge, contact SQIN Care or your healthcare provider promptly.

  • Aftercare for Lips

After your permanent make-up treatment on the lips, proper aftercare is essential to ensure optimal healing and beautiful, long-lasting results. Follow these expert guidelines from SQIN Care Algarve:

    Immediate Aftercare for Lips:

    • Keep the treated area clean and dry. Avoid water, make-up, lotions, and other cosmetics on your lips for at least 14 days.

    • Cleanse gently using sterile water and a soft cotton pad. Dab carefully—do not rub. This helps remove any excess pigment and prevents infection.

    • Apply LONG-TIME-LINER® Aloe Vera Gel 4 to 5 times a day with a cotton swab to soothe and hydrate the skin.

    • Avoid licking, biting, or picking at your lips—let any scabs fall off naturally to prevent scarring and uneven pigment.

    Sun and Water Exposure:

    • Avoid a lot of direct sunlight, tanning beds, pools, and saltwater for at least two weeks after treatment. UV rays and chlorine can fade pigment and irritate healing skin.

    • Once healed, always apply a lip balm with SPF to protect your results.

    Healing Timeline and Expectations:

    • Days 1–3: Lips may feel swollen, tender, and slightly red. Mild scabbing can develop, this is normal.

    • Days 4–7: Scabs begin to flake off naturally. Avoid picking or peeling to prevent damage.

    • Weeks 2–4: The lips may appear lighter or patchy as new skin forms and pigment settles.

    • After 4 weeks: Full healing is usually complete, and the true colour of your PMU lips will be visible.

    Important Tips:

    • Avoid kissing or intimate contact for at least two weeks to reduce the risk of infection.

    • Stay hydrated and avoid spicy or acidic foods that may irritate healing skin.

    • If you notice excessive redness, swelling, pain, or signs of infection, contact SQIN Care or your healthcare provider immediately.

  • SQIN Care – Aftercare Instructions for your Permanent Make-Up Treatment

At SQIN Care, we prioritise your skin’s health and the best possible results following your permanent make-up (PMU) treatment. Proper aftercare is essential for optimal healing and long-lasting, vibrant pigment. Please follow these instructions carefully:

    1. Cleaning the Treated Area:
Boil water and allow it to cool to a safe temperature. Soak cotton pads in the sterile water and gently squeeze out excess moisture. Apply one pump of cleansing milk to two cotton pads and gently dab the treated skin. Repeat this every hour for the first 48 hours to keep the area clean and promote healing.

    2. Soothing and Moisturising:
After 2 days of cleaning, rest the skin for one day. Then, apply LONG-TIME-LINER® Aloe Vera Gel gently with a cotton swab 4-5 times daily to soothe and nourish the skin.

    3. Healing Phase:
When scabs have naturally fallen off and no longer visible, start applying LONG-TIME-LINER® Hyaluron Gel and Vitamin E Cream 4-5 times daily until all redness subsides. This helps restore moisture and supports skin regeneration.

    4. Important Do’s and Don’ts:

      • DO NOT pick or scratch any scabs. Let them fall off naturally to avoid scarring and preserve the pigment’s quality.

      • Keep the treated area dry and avoid water, lotions, makeup, and other cosmetics for 14 day, except the recommended aftercare products.

      • Avoid touching the area with your hands to prevent infection.

      • Stay away from saunas, swimming pools, steam rooms, solariums, and direct sun exposure during the healing process, even when using sunscreen.

      • Avoid plasters, bandages, tight or dirty clothing on the treated area.

      • For lip treatments, avoid kissing for the first two weeks to ensure proper healing.

    5. When to Contact Us or Your GP:
If you experience excessive redness, swelling, bleeding, pus, changes in colour, or pain, contact your GP immediately.

At SQIN Care, we want your PMU experience to be safe, comfortable, and successful. Please note that failure to follow these aftercare instructions may affect your final results and liability will not be assumed by SQIN Care.
